Oliver is a (partially) self taught artist located in southern California. His mediums of choice are digital art, watercolors, ink, and experimental mixed media. Most of the art Oliver makes is of his own original characters, but he also enjoys painting pet portraits and indulging in fan art. Although he was previously best known for his furry art and cartooning, Oliver is now aiming to expand his repertoire. When he can, Oliver loves to experiment with new forms of mixed media, where most of the inspiration for these projects comes from his lifelong passion for animals and nature, love of horror, and insatiable morbid curiousity.

About the Artist

My name is Oliver Gray, but you may know me by my online alias, Blue! I’m a neurodivergent, transgender artist located in SoCal! I am currently in college double majoring in veterinary medicine and criminology in hopes of working as a veterinary orthopedic surgeon in the future. One of my passions is advocating for LGBT rights. More specifically, I focus on pushing to end conversion therapy, as I am a survivor. For as long as I can remember, I have loved animals, which is why I volunteer as a puppy raiser for Guide Dogs for the Blind and much of my free time is spent volunteering at my local veterinary clinic. I mainly in create fanart, character designs, furry art, pet portraits, and experimental mixed media pieces!

TOS

terms and conditions:

  • i have the right to refuse service to anyone

  • only the commissioner and/or owner of the pet or character can use my commissioned art

  • you must provide a clear reference photo. For characters, if the reference sheet isn't up to date please make note of what it is missing. Regarding photos for pet portraits, they must have good lighting and be high definition. i can't work from blurry or pixelated photos

  • turnaround time varies from piece to piece. cartooning pieces turnaround time is, on average, 1-2 months. turnarounds for pet portraits range from 2-3 months. please note that turnaround time is subject to change based on how busy I am in every day life. therefore, art may take more or less time than estimated.

  • unfortunately, at this time i cannot provide rush order for my artwork so please ensure you have ample time according to turnaround estimates for me to complete the piece by your deadline

  • my commissions are not first come first serve. i choose the project i find most interesting and enjoyable so that i can provide each customer with the highest quality product as possible

payment:

  • i only take paypal or venmo

  • my prices are non-negotiable. period.

  • payment must be sent before I begin the artwork!

  • (N/A for pet portraits) once i send you the sketch, you can tell me what, if anything needs to be changed. once you approve it i will begin line art. once i start the line art i can only make very small changes.

  • payment can be fully refunded before i start the sketch. Once sketching begins, payment can be partially refunded. If the sketch is not finished then I keep 20%. If it is fully finished then I keep 25%. Refunds will not be issued after I start line art.

  • in the event i have to cancel your commission, you will be fully refunded

will and won't draw:

  • i will not draw sexual nsfw art. artistic nudity can be discussed if you are over the age of 18. however, ID must be provided

  • i will not draw hateful or prejudice artwork

  • i will not draw spiders or some insects for pet portraits, sorry!

design rules:

  • do not claim my designs as your own. you may make changes to designs and credit yourself with the changes, but make it clear that i still designed the character

  • do not resell my designs for more than you paid if you have not made and/or commissioned art of said character

when will you open commissions again?i do not have a regular schedule for commissions. i recommend that you check my instagram or twitter periodically
can i reserve a commission slot?no, that would be unfair to others and leave me at risk for buyers backing out
can you let me know when commissions open again?i cannot. unfortunately i have a bad memory for that sort of thing
do you do art trades?i sometimes open art trades (check my socials) but I am extremely picky with who i accept.
will you draw me (X) but like, for free?no, i do not do art for free. just like any job, i expect to get paid for my effort.
what programs do you use?i use procreate with an ipad pro and apple pencil
what brushes do you use?i mostly use default procreate brushes, however i do have a few brush packs downloaded. honestly, i can't remember what ones they are though
where do you get faux fur?i get faux fur online from Howl Fabric, Big Z Fabric, and Fursuit Supplies

didn't your username used to be _____?i've gone through a few usernames over the years. as i have grown, so has my account! my last username was grahamsdogs.
why did you change your username?although i am still attached to grahamsdogs, i wanted a name that was not affiliated with a fandom. i do not only make hannibal fan art and i want my username to reflect that.
can i trace or reference your art?you may trace or reference my art for practice. you may not post traced or referenced art. you are never allowed to claim it as your own.
i just really want to talk to you!go ahead! i'm a bit anxious at first and it is sometimes difficult for me to hold a conversation, but i love making friends! my favorite ice breaker is sharing things about my pets and learning about yours!
